The Sanké Custom Blowout

Do you want your hair to look like you just left the salon, but you do not need a cut or color service? Then, a blowout service is for you. More than just drying your hair, a blowout gives you that salon style. Blowouts are perfect for big events. However, they are also great for people who want fabulous hair and a little touch of pampering in their daily lives.

WHAT IS A BLOWOUT?

When you think of a blowout, do you think of a particular style? Most people associate blowouts with sleek, smooth, straight hair with a bit of bouncy and body. One of the most popular blowout styles involves using a round brush to create that look. However, a blowout refers to several different styling techniques. You can get everything from voluptuous curls to sleek, straight hair. Just make sure you let your stylist know what look you want.

HOW LONG DOES A BLOWOUT LAST?

How often do you wash your hair? Depending on your hair texture and density, a great blowout can last from wash to wash. Some clients even prefer to come in for regular washes and blowouts, so their hair is always “done.” Other people enjoy their blowouts for a few days before washing and restyling at home.

To get the most from your blowout, you want to reduce its exposure to moisture and friction:

  • Avoid sweating
  • Wear a shower cap when you shower
  • Wear a shower cap when you shower
  • Sleep on a satin pillowcase

You can also refresh your blowout at home to extend its life. We suggest blasting your roots with the cool air from your hairdryer to create oomph near the roots. Using dry shampoo near the scalp can also help absorb excess oils.

DOES THE STYLIST WASH YOUR HAIR?

If you have never had a blowout, you might wonder how you should come to the salon. Some people think they need to come with freshly washed hair. However, washing and conditioning your hair are parts of the blowout process. After finding out what type of style you want and assessing the condition of your hair, your stylist will pick the right shampoo, conditioner, and other products for your blowout. So, you do not need to come to the salon with freshly washed hair. We handle all of that for you.

HOW IMPORTANT ARE THE RIGHT PRODUCTS?

One of the things that salon clients complain about is when a stylist pushes products. We understand that you may have products you love that are easy to use and help you achieve your everyday look. However, part of our extensive training and ongoing continuing education is learning about products. Our training enables us to recognize the right products for your hair and a look.

We choose the best products for your look in the salon. To extend your blowout, we may also recommend products, such as a great dry shampoo or a fabulous pillowcase. These suggestions are merely to help you maintain your style at home.

WHAT SEPARATES A BLOWOUT FROM EVENT STYLING?

The most significant difference between an everyday blowout and special event hairstyling is probably the time to create your desired style. If you are looking for an elaborate updo, then you need to schedule an event style. However, you can get several great looks with a regular blowout.

OLD SCHOOL GLAM

Love the look of smooth waves? We can help you capture some of that Hollywood style with a modern, looser, softer finish.

TEXAS HAIR

The bigger the hair, the closer to God. It is not just one of our favorite lines from one of the best movies about Southern women ever; it is also true about Texas hair. If you want volume, we can pump up your style and give your hair body, bounce, and life!

SO SMOOTH

In the classic blowout, we can add volume to your roots, smooth shine along your hair’s length, and a slight curl at the end to define and shape your style.

BEACHY WAVES

One of today’s most popular looks, we can create a simultaneously effortless look and the epitome of modern style.

CURLS

Whether you want tight ringlets or loose waves, we can finish off your blowout by adding the coils of your dreams. If you choose a curly style, do not forget to ask your stylist for tips on how to refresh your curls to keep your blowout looking fabulous!

STRAIGHT

Sometimes, you just want straight, frizz-free, high-shine hair. We can do that, too!

CAN I ACHIEVE A SALON-QUALITY BLOWOUT AT HOME?

That depends on several factors, including your:

  • Skill level
  • Product choice
  • Hair length
  • Hair texture

The significant advantage of a blowout is styling the back from the proper distance and angle. That can be difficult to duplicate at home. To get the most out of your home blowouts, you want to follow the same steps we would follow in the salon.

  • Wash and condition your hair with products designed for your hair type.
  • Remove extra moisture with a hair turban or microfiber towel. Wrap and squeeze instead of rubbing, which creates frizz-inducing friction!
  • Comb with a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush.
  • Use a heat protectant. Just like your other products, the proper heat protectant depends on your hair type.
  • Use medium heat to partially dry your hair before styling.
  • Section your hair. Focusing on one-inch sections will help you achieve a smooth look on each part of your head.
  • Use your hairdryer with its nozzle attachment on medium heat and a brush to create your style. Round brushes let you get a smooth texture while still giving body and bounce. The smaller the barrel of the round brush, the more curl and wave you will get. Medium heat is another key to a great blowout, as it helps smooth your hair's cuticle.
  • Let each section of hair cool before removing the round brush. Cooling helps "set" your style and is one of the big reasons salon blowouts last longer than most at-home blow-drys.
  • Use a finishing cream or hair oil to help keep your hair frizz-free!
